The Zhontal'rai are another race of insects. because of their natural armor and weapons, they make very good warriors. Zhontal'rai governmental structure is based on a cast system. The system consists of 3 casts: ruler, warrior, worker. Each cast may have sub-casts, but details on their cast system is a mystery. Like most races, the social structure of Zhontal'rai society consists of the pairing of male/female, at least initially. Because Zhontal'rai females can hatch up to 50 eggs in one brood, females often have multiple males aroudn to help provide for the brood. In Zhontal'rai society, this is acceptable because out of a brood of 50, there may only hatch one or two females. Because of this disparity of the sexes, Zhontal'rai kingdoms were expansionist early in their history. With so many males at a rulers disposal, something had to be done to keep them busy. For them, war was practically a necessity.
